I bought a DEVANT 32″ LED TV model 32MEL150 last Friday (11/09/2012).. It was perfectly working okay until today that I noticed a “cloudy” patch on the top right corner of the screen.. Looks like dead pixels and it’s more obvious if the room lights are turned off..I know it’s been there, I just didn’t notice it.
Just had my replacement today from Automatic Centre in Greenhills.. We tested the TV for possible problem.. The screen looked okay because the showroom was very vivid. I asked the sales man (Maxx) if he can turn the lights off but he said it’s not possible..
Went back home, set it up hoping that the replacement is in good condition. I got disappointed.. It’s even worse than the first unit.

You will see the clouding effects covering entirely the whole display – mostly on the bottom right.
I called their branch in Ghills and Maxx told me that they will forward my concern to one of their servicers and will just call me back the next day.
Told them that it’s not a service issue and I need a replacement. But now, NOT A DEVANT. The sales rep said it’s okay to get a different brand and pay the difference.

Hi Guys, I also got 40MEL150 a month ago and sad to say I replaced it 3rd times already. It was the clouding issue the first and second time,the 3rd time it was the black line accross the screen. The dealer said it was a dead pixel so they replace it once again. It was rediculous huh! I know that I should let it go and find another brand but sadly I can’t find another with the same feauters that it has. I brought the 4th one home and after reading this thread I started to get really nervous of what will happens next, btw my first devant was more that 3 yrs old already and without a single issue whatsoever that’s why I’m still leaning towards devant. Hopefully it was a good buy afterall.

My devant 24″ LED Tv worked for 5 years and 3 days now it is going to the basurero. It was a replacement for a 22″ Samsung LCD tv that developed a dead pixel line within 35 days.

I had it replaced and got the same problem with my replacement unit. It was a clone. Devant said that they would replace it with a 40″ model but mark my unit with “no defect”. They said that their units like mine really do have that problem. Sabi ng technician…naka dikit na yung back light sa LCD.
Haay.
Nasilaw kasi ako sa buy one take one. Got my 42″ along with a 24″ free. Should have stuck with Samsung.
What a bad purchase.

I have the same model 32MEL150 for now wala naman akong nakikita na problema like clouding or lines, i bought it last september 26 this year i like the features that the unit was offering kaya bumile ako, check mo ung power outlet nyo bk kc dun ung problem kc hinde consistent ung voltage i recommend Avr to protect any electronics items.. Devant is a goodbrand nman!

Like what I’ve mentioned in this post, the clouding issue is not that visible in a bright room..
Make sure all lights are turned OFF and the room should be really dark as possible..
Press on SOURCE button once to display the options..
You will see a black background and all you need to do is to check for “clouding” on the screen..
If you see even just a little patch or clouding, I suggest you return it to the store asap as the problem will definitely get worse in a matter of few months.

My mom and I bought the same (32MEL150) last night (12-28-12) at SM App Ctr, SM Marikina. Well, I was a bit misled because the specs on their site (http://devanttv.com/products/ledtech/mel150#specfications) is different from what me and my brother oserved (it says its “EDGE LED” but its not. We said it’s ok basta may TV kami that we can use.
But I stumbled upon these negative reviews throughout the web community. I mean, it’s a bit waste to return it in exchange with samsung, LG etc. kasi it comes with a Free NEXT BASE DVD player (kahit may player na kami). So, can you guys advice me a couple of things to consider RETURNING it in exchange for better and established brands… THANKS!!

I had mine returned couple of times and got the same issue, “bleeding” or “clouding” as what they call it..
A sales rep from Automatic Center confirmed that there’s a known defect on this specific model and advised me to just return it and just get an upgraded model..
Well, I didnt have a second thought of just getting a totally different brand.
I chose Sony over Samsung although I added Php2200 for the difference.. It has a free Sony Dvd player too!!
So far, I’m very happy with my Sony Bravia and I hope it won’t be having any problem sooner than it’s life expectancy..

I’m actually experiencing the same issue now with my 32Mel150.. Napansin ko lang lately yung clouding sa left lower left corner at sa gitna ng tv ko.Tumawag ako sa customer service nila at may technician daw na pupunta to check this. I bought this last 12/19/2012. So, papalitan nila yung unit ko?

Do you know what is meant by edge led? It is a backlit technology that uses led and is placed at the edge part of the panel that’s why it’s called edge led technology. If you are refering to a LED Tv it is called as OLED or AMOLED.

it’s called light bleeding.. problem with that is if your watching dark scenes. it wont be as dark or as black as what it supposed to be.
just bought mine yesterday. 42itv600. Still on the lookout for any issues. I have a month for possible replacement.

Not necessarily all sides.. Sometimes scattered yung clouding even in the center. You may try to adjust the brightness and contrast to a lower setting. If problem persists, you may consider returning it for exchange.

Well, i really have no clue if there’s a known defect for that specific model.. Like what i’ve mentioned in this post, the manufacturer confirmed that there’s a defect on their 32MEL150 model only (i hope)
Devant has great features, it’s cheaper and can be compared with branded LED TVs.
You can give it a shot! You can return it if there’s a problem anyways..

nakita ko mei very light bleeding din ung nakuha ko pero not very noticeable naman.. i-rereklamo ko na lang kapag lumala na.. pero maganda pa din naman ung PQ.. mine is 42″ mel260 3d tv.. so far satisfied naman ako..

Hi guys, just an info.. backlight bleeding is normal to any lcd panel due to it’s opacity and how it is being assemble. But there are always a certain limits for this whether it is passed or failed. Never be fooled on the brand name. Different brands uses the same panel since there are only few lcd panel manufacturers. If you know someone who is working at any repair centers that are authorized by different brands, they can atest what i am saying. These different brands uses the same lcd panel. And know what, the worse lcd panel ever used is the one assembled by samsung. Most of their panel suffers from bleeding and worse is the lines that appears on the screen.
I work in a repair center authorized by, samsung, lg, panasonic, devant, skyworth, tcl. Base from my experience the best lcd panel is the one assemble by lg company. Skyworth, devant and tcl uses these 2 types of lcd panel depending on their tv size. Most of 32″ below are samsung panel. 37 above are lg, some are samsung, chimei or hisense panel. Most of devant tv uses hisense lcd panel. Hisense is a well know brand in the western countries and china which is better than samsung in terms of quality.

Hi, I can’t answer what is better between the two.. But what ever maybe your choice, what I can help is to advice you to what will you do to prevent some damages. You have to use an AVR or Auto voltage Regulator. To what I had observed an experience is even Japanese made parts are prone to damages due to fluctuation of current. Most consumers that encounters frequent damages to their gadgets are the one living near factories, machine shop, welding shops and other establishment using high voltage operated machines and areas that has some people using jumper connections. The reason is that the current fed to them are unstable and causing some ICs or regulators inside to operate abnormally.

Ive posted my problem regarding Devant MEL150. Bale, when playing from USB or DVD, dark masyado yung display. Sa display settings , puro fix settings (standard, cinema, game) lang ang pwede mo-maselect (walang user settings) na pwede mo madjust ang brightness or contrast.
Bumalik ako sa appliance store pero hindi rin ma-solve nung sale staff kung paano pag-adjust sa brightness. Did try to play the movie sa LG 32″, hindi naman dark ang display.
May problem ba ang unit or normal lang to?

Hi, there is a technology adapted by some brands it is called the auto dimming. The intensity of the led backlight automatically adjust depending on the display status of your screen. When your screen goes dark,the led will also dim, when your screen goes bright the backlight will glow brighter to provide you a brighter display. This causes some movie scenes to be darker. Try to check for the TV settings, you can see a selection named, AUTODIM, AUTOLIGHT, DCR, or BACKLIGHT CONTROL you have a to turn this off. But expect for a visible backlight bleeding during dark scenes, since autodimming is one option to minimize the screen bleeding. I already repaired a devant mel150 before the 46″, what i have observe is you can adjust the display settings in user mode when you’re source is in TV. When USB is plug in you can’t access the set up. So try to adjust settings using TV source first before playing the USB. if you have the 32″ mel150, the wattage is 40watts this is one reason why it can’t produce brighter picture. The lower the wattage the dimmer the led backlight.

Just bought a 32MEL150 last week(Mar 21,2013) at SM Appliance Store here in Davao. Ok naman yung features, can read all popular video formats, has an audio output.
I have this problem regarding the display settings. Just discovered, na hindi mo ma-set to USER mode settings a display. Bale fixed settings lang ang pwede mo ma-select (standard, cinema, game, etc). I’m expexting na pwede maset to USER mode ang display setting para ma-adjust yung brightness, contrast, etc pero hindi pwede. Naka-set na sa 100% ang brightness and contrast sa user mode pero no effect pa rin. So, I am stuck with a dark display setting when playing movies from USB or DVD.
Pero ma-select mo naman siya when watching Television.
I came back to the appliance store and even the sales staff failed to solve my problem
May problem ba sa unit or normal lang to? Any ideas how to fix? Thanks.

Skyworth 39d-led is a new model,i haven’t seen it yet,since most tv I have checked are those that are brought to our repair shop for repair. To give you a
n idea.. Direct led backlight are more prone to bleeding, since the led backlight yare positioned behind the lcd panel and directly emitting light to the lcd. If the edge led has a bleeding at four corners, d-led bleeding are at the middle part of the screen in a circular form. Imagine a 20 to 50 pen flashlight arranged in columns and rows behind your lcd display, that is how d-led works and that is the reason why all d-led tvs are bulky.

Hi, I can’t answer what is better between the two.. But what ever maybe your choice, what I can help is to advice you to what will you do to prevent some damages. You have to use an AVR or Auto voltage Regulator. To what I had observed an experience is even Japanese made parts are prone to damages due to fluctuation of current. Most consumers that encounters frequent damages to their gadgets are the one living near factories, machine shop, welding shops and other establishment using high voltage operated machines and areas that has some people using jumper connections. The reason is that the current fed to them are unstable and causing some ICs or regulators inside to operate abnormally…….. I bought a DeVant 32″ because of its DTV. After a couple of months the first sign of defect was the power problem. It wont power on after experiencing brownout. What was funny then was when I bought it to the service center since it was still under warranty. At the center I dont know but it simply powered on. After one year warranty the same POWER PROBLEM recurs. I dont know. I need to wait for 16 to 24 hours for power to return. The SECOND problem encountered was the green blurred lines appearing at the bottom screen, However this defect was corrected when I availed of SkyCables HD services. The THIRD problem with my DeVant is it cannot read an MKV file. It sucks. If I have the big bucks to buy new one, I FOR ONE WILL NOT BUT A DEVANT. That brand is STRESSFUL. Buy it if u DARE. Sorry DeVant – I am just one of your DISCONTENTED CUSTOMER…

nakabili ako last monday 46 inches devant. d ko masyado nakita ung cloudy pagmay dark scenes duon sa Sm, mejo maliwanag kasi dun e. napansin ko nalang nung nasa bahay na nung off lahat ng ilaw. ang daming cloudy na parang patch na malalaki. normal lang ba un? pero overall ok naman sya.. gusto ko ung quality ng movie nya un lang ang issue ung cloudy.

Grabe kami rin! Bought ours nung 2010 December and then 2 years later may 2 na ganyan sa bottom. After a few more months naging parang marble na effect gb lower half ng TV. Akala namin nakatipid na kami pero hay… You get what you pay for.

Hi, I just got my 55″ Devant 55GL510 last March 25, 2014 as an upgrade to my 2-yr old Sony 42″ LED (which I will use to upgrade my 4-yr old Samsung LCD). I haven’t noticed yet any clouding issue, but I’m experiencing sudden 1-2 second blue/blank screens when I’m watching MKV files from HDD/ media player. This happens at random, sometimes once in 30 minutes, sometimes every 5 seconds in succession, and whether the MKV file size being viewed is big (20+GB) or small (7-10GB). During the 1-2 second blue/blank screen, there is also no audio. Afterwards, the movie resumes as normal..until the next blue screen. This problem does NOT occur when viewing from other devices attached to the 2 other HDMI ports: cable TV (Cignal) and X-Box, and aerial antenna. This was also not experienced from the previous TV hooked to the HDD/media player.
I will refer this to the appliance center/ service center; I just want to know if anyone else is experiencing this, or has knowledge what’s causing this. Thanks.

Ganyan din experience ko, kelangan volume level 50 to 75 (out of 100) para malinaw sound. Pero sa tingin ko baka it depends sa encoding nung file being played. Kasi pag X-Box naman ang source, 12 to 15 volume level lang, malakas na. Pag satellite TV (Cignal), around 40 to 50.

I bought Sony Bravia ex52 last May 2011 at Php 75,000.00. Just last Wednesday June 4,2014 sudden screen blackout occurred. Brought it to the service center the following day but the technician told us to buy a new TV instead of paying the Php 35,000 for the LCD panel replacement when he found out that it’s the LCD that was broken/burnt. I got disappointed of course because the appliance only lasted for 3 years and quite expensive though. But what’s more disappointing is the after sales that has given. They should have given even any suggestion/support at least to commence on my concern and not just say “buy a new one” as if I have no other choice. Truly felt disappointed on their service, TV and Customer Service.

Guys, accept the fact that the technology today is different from before, we are moving forward. In the current trend gadget features are the same, the only difference is the brand. The Big brands already established their names that’s why most of us are “brand slaves”. What ever negative we heard about them for us it’s okay, but for the new brands one small problem is a one big issue. Today it is not the battle of the brands, it is the battle of the specs. Different brands have the same parts inside.
Think of it, for example one TV is made up of hundreds of parts/component inside of it. Even a giant brand don’t have the ability to invest to build up hundreds of factories for each parts/component just to assemble a single model of TV. The reality is in every type of gadgets they uses the same parts, the only difference is the brand and the operating programs.
Yes there are brands that sucks, but not all the model line up of their product.
Almost all gadgets now are assembled in China since most of the factories of minor parts/components are there. Like one big brand that claims to be a Korean brand. yes, it is but most of their parts are china made. they are Korean brand but assembled in china or assembled in Korea but most of the parts are imported from China.
There are also brands that have very poor quality, it is because their parts are coming from a poor quality factory. But not all China assembled or China brands have poor quality, most of them uses same parts which is also used by the giant one.
The Japanese brand age is done, We are now currently under the Korean brand, one day we will all wake up and realized that it is the age for the China brands.
I am telling this just to open up your mind guys, I know it because Audio/video is my field, this is my passion and this is my interest.
Time will come, the term “MADE IN CHINA” will be redefined.

Sa lahat ng nagbabasa ng thread dito, bigyan nyo naman aku ng payo..my devant tv,(39itv600) ..nagkaron na ng parang linya linya sa right side..tinawag ko sa service center nila.. Katulad ng mga nabasa ko ng reklamo sa service center nila ganun ngaun ang nangyayari sa akin.. Inaalok nila ako ng upgrade to 40inch..kahit di pa nila nakikita yung sira ng tv ko.mag add aku ng 4,000 upgrade daw nila brand new..hindi daw un recondition ung ipinapalit nila.. Brand new daw talaga.. Ano kaya tama kaya na ganun na lang gawin ku.. Add 4,000 pAra i- upgrade daw.. By the way Devant din ang ipapalit nila..
Please advise sa mga may expirience na sa Devant..0 baka mas magka problema pa ako after..

We bought it last jan,13,2013.. Malapit ng matapos ung two years na warranty at sa tagal nila pumunta e baka maabutan na ng end ng warranty..ung sa pag upgrade nga sabi nila another two years warranty.. At yun ang mas pinu- push sa akin ung mag upgrade kesa puntahan nila para gawaain..kasi daw para pagpunta nila kung papayag aku sa offer nila na promo pagpunta nila e dala na nila ung brand new na kapalit.mas tama na mag upgrade na lang aku at magdagdag ng 4,000? Parang binibili ku ba ung another two years na warranty?

On my case of having an L. E. D. Devant TV, the half screen in horizontal is darker for about 2months ago and like me without a 4wheel service, how am I gonna bring it to service centers? It’s so awful when you are watching sitting on the right side of the tv although you can transfer on the left but it’s not normal. We contacted the service center in marikina along marcos hiway but it seemed closed. I brought my home theatre there before because I noticed that there’s somethin wrong with the sound. They fixed it and got to chat with the technician and they seemed having a problem on financial aspect with regards to the Company. Anyway, with all the negative comments I read about Devant, they should fix this right away.

Bought a 32DL410 it’s been 1 year 4 months now.
While watching, Yung TV biglang Nag palit palit ng kulay. Blue red yellow. nawala mga channel. Ayaw gumana ng remote. Pati ng control panel sa mismong TV. Hindi na malipat or turn on/off. Merong battery remote. My green light Pag pinipress ang button. Disconnected the tv from power outlet. 1 channel nalng sya ngayun pagka power back on at kelangan tanggalin sa power outlet bago mag turn off.
Nagrestart ako ng TV and remote. Power off, remove from power outlet sa TV then power on. Sa remote tinanggal ko batteries and replaced ko ng bago. Ganun pa din.
Ano paba pwede Kong gawin?

Hello, I’m having a problem with my Devant also,, bought it last November 2013. And while I’m watching bigla na lang namatay yung tv.. so tinigil ko muna ang panonood, then after a while nag-open naman using the remote then suddenly when I try to change the channel the remote’s no longer functioning, tried to change the battery still not working.
So I tried to control it using the TV Control and to my surprise its not working too,, what should I do? Please help.

Palpak naman talaga ang Devant. I bought 32DL410 last year Sept 2014 then after 1 month yung screen nag karoon ng mga white lines. Pinagawa namin sa service center. Backlight daw yung naging problema. This 2015 almost 5x na kami pabalik balik sa service center bigla na lang nag blockout yung screen sound na lang. Distorted dw always yun yung problema so I decide na ipa replace na lng under warranty pa kasi, Hopefully yung ipapalit nila maging ok na kasi hassle sa time magpabali balik sa service center. Parang ang dating we buy for nothing and there company gaining. Hay naku.. Umayos kayo Devant Factory……

Hi we have a devant 32dl410 so far okay naman sya but we bought ps3 and connected it to the tv using hdmi but there’s no audio output coming from tv. We tried also to connect a laptop but the same problem happened. I think hindi sa hdmi cord ang may prob since it is an original sony. Naiconfigure na din namin ang ps3 for audio settings, may kailangan pa bang iset up sa tv mismo para doon lumabas ang sound.

Hi guys. I’m from Borongan City. I bought a DEVANT 48″ LED TV (48 LTV 700) in Tacloban City last Dec 26 2015. The unit lasted only for 3 months due to power supply problem. When I relayed the problem to the outlet store they told me that it will take several months and no guarantee that the unit will be repaired. Out of desperation I instructed the technician to detached the power supply to have it checked in DEVANT Pasig and just buy the part if necessary. I went to the place yesterday and the guy did not even bothered to look at power supply which I placed in front of his table. He just told me to bring the whole bulky unit from Borongan City, Eastern Samar to Pasig City. (OMG!). When I ask him where I can possibly buy the part (because he told me that they are not selling parts) he did not say any word an entertained another client unstead. PLEASE HELP ME GUYS. WHERE CAN I BUY A RELIABLE POWER SUPPLY FOR THIS UNIT?. Sayang kc ung DEVANT SMART TV ko. NASA sulok na lang ng bahay ko. Maging leksyon sana ito sa mga may balak na bumili ng malaking TV lalo na yong taga pribinsya. Mag isip muna kayo. Sana may makatulong agad sa akin. I will be leaving for Samar on Sunday. hi question po… we’re about to buy Devant-50UHV200, eto po ata yung bago nilang 4k Ultra HD. SRP is about 33k. natetempt kaming bilhin kasi maganda naman ung picture and smart tv na rin sya. Sabi nung mga nag dedemo dun mas okay daw devant ngayon kasi dati sa china ata to gawa pero ngayon daw locally manufactured na sya. and it comes with 2 years warranty so if ever daw magkasira covered kami. Any recommendations po? May nakabili na po ba sa inyo ng ganitong unit? Baka po kasi next week bilhin na namin. Many thanks!

We bought our Devant LCD Tv 26DX850 about four years ago. The was hit by a peso coin and it has a little crack but until now the TV is working well and the crack is not affecting the screen. The picture is still at its best. The only problem is the remote control. I can’t find a replacement. Now I’m using a universal remote.
For comparison, we bought a Sony Baravia just last December 2015 and was also hit by a plastic case of a charger. Wow! the damage is disgusting One half of the screen is affected and the replacement is worth 24k. he service center told us the guaranty was void beacause of the accident. So , we are back to our old TV the Devant that still runs on its best performance. We will never buy a Sony again.

ngwork ako sa optoelectronics company and ang tawag sa defect na yan ay MURA (chinese) or color difference. sakit ng lcd yan. and yung mga lcd na ganyan eh low grade na kumbaga. Sony, Samsung at Toshiba ang gawa nmen at yung mga brand na yun eh matataas ang standard. as in walang color diffence bago i out sa customer, meron man sobrang liit ng chance na visible cya. usually sa black pattern lng naman yan sobrang obvious. kung ngtitipid eh ok ndin cguro yan wag nga lang mgpapatay ng ilaw pagnanunuod. 😂😂

My Devant 32 led TV is malfunctioning, the channel is changing automatically even without pressing the remote. Sometimes the menu list would appear and keep on flashing on the screen. Am so disappointed with the brand. Never experienced this before from other brands. Anybody have the same experienced?

Alam ko na yan. Palpak talaga yang de vant. My uncle bought bought 1 used it in about less than a year till it broke down similar to one of my next door unit neighbor just afterr a year it bogged down. Had it repaired and it cost him about 6k for it what a waste
